Parents Urged to Monitor Children’s School Attendance as Exercise Books Are Distributed in Yola North

Parents in Yola North Local Government Area of Adamawa State have been urged to closely monitor their children and ensure they attend school regularly in order to promote educational development among students.


The Principal of General Murtala Muhammed College, Yola, and Coordinator of Principals in Yola North, Mallam Muhammed Alhaji Musa, made the call while supervising the distribution of exercise books to secondary schools across the local government area.


Mallam Musa explained that the Adamawa State Government, under the leadership of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has continued to support schools by providing essential learning materials, including exercise books for students. He noted that parents also have a responsibility to support these efforts by ensuring their children remain committed to their education.


According to him, parents play a crucial role in enrolling their children in school and making sure they attend classes regularly.


 He therefore encouraged them to pay closer attention to their children’s education to help improve learning outcomes among students.


He also advised parents and teachers to maintain a strong working relationship, stressing that cooperation between both parties would help ensure that children receive quality education and make meaningful progress in their studies.


Mallam Musa further called on school administrators to ensure that the distributed exercise books are properly utilized for the intended purpose.


He warned that anyone found misusing or diverting the materials would face legal action, urging officials to handle the items responsibly.


Students were also encouraged to remain focused on their studies to achieve sound academic success.


In addition, teachers were urged to perform their duties with dedication and integrity to enable students excel in their final secondary school examinations, including WAEC and other assessments.


Mallam Musa concluded by commending Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for his commitment to improving the education sector and advancing development across various sectors in Adamawa State.
