Alhaji Muhammed Adamu Giwa Crowned as Dan Maliki Batta in Demsa

The Demsa Local Government Area in Adamawa State was filled with relatives, friends, and well-wishers from different parts of Nigeria and beyond who gathered to witness the coronation ceremony of Alhaji Muhammed Adamu Giwa as Dan Maliki Batta. The event took place at the palace of the Hamma Batta in Demsa, creating an atmosphere of celebration and cultural pride.
While conferring the traditional title, the Hamma Batta, Homun Alhamdu Glastone Teneke, stated that the appointment of Alhaji Muhammed Adamu Giwa was based on his merit and his outstanding contributions to the development of the Batta area, particularly in the areas of security, peace, and unity.
The monarch urged the newly crowned Dan Maliki Batta to sustain his efforts in promoting peace, fostering unity among the people, and supporting the traditional institution to achieve sustainable development in the community. He emphasized that Alhaji Muhammed Adamu has played a significant role in strengthening harmony and stability within the Batta community and its surrounding areas.
In his remarks shortly after the coronation, Alhaji Muhammed Adamu Giwa expressed his happiness and gratitude to Almighty God and to the Hamma Batta for the honor bestowed upon him. He pledged to use the opportunity to further contribute to the development of the Batta area across various sectors, including social welfare and community growth.
He assured the gathering that, by the grace of God, he would continue to work tirelessly to promote the progress of the emirate and the entire region. He also called on the people of Batta and its environs to remain united and to support the traditional institution in order to achieve meaningful development and lasting peace.
Alhaji Muhammed Adamu Giwa further expressed appreciation for the large turnout of guests from different locations who came to Demsa to celebrate the historic occasion. He thanked all attendees for their support and offered prayers for their safe journey back to their respective destinations.
Among the dignitaries who attended the ceremony were Idris Modibbo Usman Tola, the Head of Hunters in the North-East region, and Mustafa Ibrahim Al-Amin, the Assistant Chairman of the Traditional Medicine Practitioners’ Association in the region. They expressed their joy over the appointment and pledged their support to ensure the success of the new Dan Maliki Batta in his responsibilities.
The ceremony concluded with a grand feast and cultural entertainment, marking a memorable and colorful celebration for the people of Demsa and the wider Batta community.
