 Adamawa State Police Command has recorded another significant breakthrough in its sustained effort to combat crime and rid the State of illicit drug activities.


Police Public Relation Officer Adamawa state Command SO Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje states this in a statement made available to Newsmen in Yola.



On the 19th of April, 2026, at about 2345 hours, operatives of the Command, acting on credible intelligence, carried out a coordinated operation targeting criminal hideouts within Girei and its environs. The operation led to the successful arrest of one Suleiman Mahmud, a 25-year-old resident of Wuro-Jabbe, Yola South Local Government Area.


The suspect was intercepted while transporting illicit substances en route to the Cameroon Republic.



Items recovered from his possession include 𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 (𝟖) 𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐬𝐮𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐡𝐞𝐦𝐩 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐰𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐲 (𝟐𝟎) 𝐬𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐝𝐨𝐥. The suspect will be charged to court upon conclusion of investigation.



The Commissioner of Police, 𝑪𝑷 𝑲𝒂𝒃𝒊𝒓 𝑼𝒎𝒂𝒓 𝑯𝒂𝒔𝒔𝒂𝒏, 𝒇𝒅𝒄, reiterates the Command’s commitment to intensifying the fight against drug trafficking and other criminal activities. Members of the public are urged to continue supporting the Police with timely and useful information.
