WIND STORM DAMAGED SHAGARI CLINIC, YOLA

Shagari Clinic in Yola, Adamawa State, was damaged by a heavy windstorm accompanied by the first rainfall, affecting the male ward. Report indicates that the incident did not however affect individuals as at the time of this report. This incident is part of a larger issue of flooding in the area, which has caused displacement and disruption of healthcare services.


In his comments, the Chairman Ward Development Committee, WDC, Shehu Usman Aliyu who confirm the incident, called on the authories and wealth individuals to intervene with immediate effect to building from far damage and interruption in free floor of health care services in the area.


Floods in July 2025 ravaged Shagari and other communities in Yola, killing several people, destroying homes, and displacing residents. The National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA reported five 5 deaths and fifty five 55 injuries, with many more affected.


Efforts are being made to save the affected zinc from looting. The structure was built by Muilt Sectoral Crisis Response Project, MCRP project aiming to strengthen access to conducive environment for effective medical services.


 in his speaking  the village of Shagari ward, Honourable Asharaf Usman Marafa, who caution the residents against sharp roofing sheets on the street and drainages describing them dangerous and harmful. 


He also enjoined the people check on their neighbours especially the elderly for possible attraction and necessary support.
