By Alhassan Haladu Yola.
Women have been urged to focus on seeking knowledge in order to promote the development of education within society and improve the overall educational standard of their communities.
The Amirah of the Women’s Wing of the Jama’atu Nasril Islam in Adamawa State, Hajiya Amina Muhammed Bashir, made this call while speaking with journalists in Yola.
Hajiya Amina Muhammed Bashir stated that educating a woman is extremely important and should never be neglected.
She emphasized the need to strengthen girls’ education, noting that educating a woman is like educating the entire society.
She further explained that Islam encourages the pursuit of knowledge for everyone without exclusion. Therefore, women should intensify their efforts to acquire education, as this will enable them to properly nurture and guide their children.
According to her, women spend significant time with their children, making education essential for them to provide proper upbringing and quality learning support at home.
She also called on parents to ensure that girls are given equal access to education, stressing that this will help them raise children with good morals and sound knowledge.
Hajiya Amina further encouraged women to acquire vocational skills and engage in lawful business activities. She noted that Islam does not forbid women from working or doing business in an appropriate manner.
She advised women to avoid actions prohibited by religion in order to protect their dignity and achieve success in both this life and the hereafter.
The Amirah reiterated that women have a vital role to play in advancing education within society, stressing that educating women is essential to improving the overall well-being of the community.
She also encouraged women to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) or register to vote, noting that this will give them the opportunity to elect leaders of their choice who can effectively address their challenges.
