Gombe Opposition Stakeholders Join APC, Declare Support For Jamilu Gwamna

A coalition of stakeholders from opposition political parties in Gombe State has defected to the All Progressives Congress, APC, and declared support for the governorship ambition of Dr. Jamil Isyaku Gwamna.

The stakeholders, drawn from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, African Democratic Congress, ADC, and Labour Party, made the announcement during a visit to Dr. Gwamna in Gombe.

According to the defectors, their decision was informed by Dr. Gwamna's leadership qualities, integrity, and growing acceptance among the people of Gombe State. 

They said they were committed to supporting him ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

Among those who announced their defection are Professor Sulaiman Dankande,  Nura Abba,  Abdullah Amtai,  Dedan Mela, and Honorable Murtala Usman Dukku.

Responding, Dr. Gwamna welcomed the new members and described their decision as a positive step toward advancing the development of Gombe State. 

He assured them of his commitment to working with all stakeholders to promote progress and good governance.

Shortly after the announcement, the APC Chairman of Gombe Local Government Area, Alhaji Idris Saleh, formally received the defectors into the party.

 They were subsequently registered and issued APC membership cards.
