ADAMAWA POLICE COMMAND SET TO COMMEMORATE INTERNATIONAL YOUTH DAY 2026

The Adamawa State Police Command is set to join other Police Commands nationwide in commemorating International Youth Day (IYD) 2026, with activities designed to strengthen Police–Youth relations, promote constructive engagement, and encourage young people to contribute positively to peace and security.
Police Public Relation Officer Asamawa state Command SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje stated this in a statement made available to Newsmen in Yola.
The programme is scheduled as follows:
Date:- Saturday, 22nd August, 2026
Time:- 10:00 AM Prompt
Venue:- Women Development Centre, Justice Buba Ardo Way, Jimeta-Yola
The celebration will feature the launch of the National Campaign Against Political and Digital Thuggery with the theme:
*"My Future Is Greater Than Political and Digital Thuggery"*,
as well as a *Moderated Police–Youth Dialogue*.
Participants are expected from various youth organisations, student unions, youth wings of political parties, social media influencers/content creators, civil society organisations, community-based organisations, and other youth-focused groups across the State.
The Police–Youth Dialogue will provide a platform for young people and stakeholders to discuss issues affecting youths, peaceful participation in society, responsible use of digital platforms, and collaborative approaches to preventing political and digital thuggery.
The Commissioner of Police, Adamawa State Command, CP Kabir Umar Hassan, fdc, invites youths, stakeholders, and members of the public to participate actively in the programme as the Command continues to foster trust, partnership, and mutual understanding between the Police and young people.
