Police Public Relation Office Zone 3 Command Yola SP Aminu Umar Bashir disclosed this in a statement made available to Newsmen in Yola.
The meeting was held in line with the directive of the Inspector-General of Police, *IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM,* on promoting professionalism and people-oriented policing, as well as strengthening the implementation of the *Mobile Police Standard Operation Procedures (SOP)* for Joint Task Force (JTF) operations.
In attendance were members of the Zonal Management Team, including the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the Criminal Investigation Department, DCP Aliyu Sa'ad; Deputy Commissioner of Police, Department of Operations, DCP Abdulmalik Kaita, and Deputy Commissioner of Police, Department of Finance and Administration, DCP Bawa Ibrahim, psc, alongside Heads of Departments and other senior officers of the Zone.
During the meeting, the AIG commended officers and men of the Zone, particularly members of the Zonal Management Team, for their continued support, dedication and commitment since he assumed office as the 30th Assistant Inspector-General of Police in the Zone.
He charged all officers and men to maintain a high standard of professionalism, discipline and integrity in the discharge of their duties.
The AIG also urged officers to remain civil and professional in their interactions with members of the public and to always project a positive image of the Nigeria Police Force. He stressed that every police officer is an ambassador and image-maker of the Force.
To further strengthen cooperation with members of the public, the Zone will enhance grassroots community engagement to promote information sharing, public trust and effective partnership in crime prevention and security.
A review of the Zone's operations, based on available security intelligence, indicates a reduction in crime across key indices. The Zone is also taking proactive measures through the training and retraining of officers to improve their capacity and responsiveness to emerging security challenges.
The AIG further directed the Commanders to make adequate preparations for upcoming electioneering activities and ensure effective policing throughout the process.
The Zone therefore calls on members of the public to remain vigilant and continue to support security efforts by promptly reporting suspicious movements, persons or activities to the Police and other appropriate security agencies.
