AS MUSLIMS MARK MAULUD, CHIEF IMAM CALLS FOR PEACE, UNITY AND DEVELOPMENT.

As Muslims across the world prepare to mark this year’s Maulid, the Chief Imam of Ganye Street Jimeta, Jumma'at Mosque Mallam Hassan Sa’ad Abokin Mallam, has called on the Muslim community to use the occasion to promote unity, peace and national development.


Speaking to journalists in Yola, the Chief Imam described Maulid as a sacred period to reflect on the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad, Peace Be Upon Him. 


He urged Muslims to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood, show love and respect to one another, and emulate the Prophet’s values, which according to him, will advance the progress of Islam and the well-being of the society.


Mallam Hassan also charged Islamic scholars and preachers to use Maulid sermons to preach messages of unity, peace and mutual understanding, calling on them to offer special prayers for peace and end to the security challenges facing the country.


The Chief Imam further appealed to youths to live according to Islamic teachings examplified by the Holy Prophet, with a view to guaranteeing a better future for them and the nation.


He also advised organizers of Maulids to ensure their events are conducted in a peaceful and orderly manner, and to avoid any act that could lead to tension or violence.


Mallam Hassan congratulated Muslims on the commencement of the Maulid season and prayed to Almighty Allah to grant everyone peaceful and successful celebrations.

The Adamawa State Police Command regrets to confirm a fatal motor vehicle accident that occurred on 3rd June, 2026, at about 1:50 p.m. along the Narehi area of Girei-Song Local Government Areas. Police Public Relation OfficerAdamawa state Command SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje  discloused this in a statement made available to Newsmen in Yola. The unfortunate incident involved a military Gun truck travelling from Gombi towards Yola and a commercial Hummer bus conveying five (5) passengers from Yola to Mubi. Preliminary findings reveals that both vehicles were involved in a head-on collision, resulting in the commercial bus flipped over and burst into flames. Tragically, all five passengers aboard the Hummer bus were burnt to death after the vehicle caught fire following the collision. ASUU MODIBBO ADAMA UNIVERSITY BRANCH COMMENCED TWO WEEK WARNING STRIKE.

NSCDC Adamawa State Command Deploys 2,521 Personnel for Easter Festivitie

By Alhassan Haladu Yola. The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Adamawa State Command, has deployed  2,521 personnel* across the state to ensure a safe and peaceful Easter celebration. The State Commandant, Comdt Idris Bande, issued the directive for the massive deployment to provide adequate safety and security for lives and property, as well as to protect all critical national assets and infrastructure within Adamawa State during the Easter period. Public Relation Officer of the Command Adamawa state DSC Amidu Nyako Baba discloused this in a statement made available to Newsmen in Yola.
