Gombe Industrial Park To Get 24/7 Power Supply From Dadinkowa Hydropower Plant

The Management Committee of the Muhammadu Buhari Industrial Park, in collaboration with Gombe Revenue Optimization Company Limited and the Gombe State Electricity Regulatory Commission, has organised an interactive meeting with stakeholders and investors on the provision of stable electricity supply from the Dadinkowa Hydropower Plant to the industrial park.
Speaking to newsmen shortly after the meeting, Chairman of the Committee, Mallam Bashir Nuhu, said the meeting was aimed at engaging investors operating at the park to discuss modalities for providing reliable electricity supply to support their businesses.
He disclosed that the Gombe State Government, through Mabon Limited, is working towards providing electricity from the Dadinkowa Hydropower Plant to the industrial park.
Mallam Bashir Nuhu explained that the meeting also enabled the government to ascertain the electricity requirements of the various companies operating at the park, based on their daily production needs.
According to him, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya established the industrial park to boost business activities, create employment opportunities and generate revenue for the state.
Also speaking, the Plant Manager of Mabon Limited, Engineer Lawal Zubairu, said the company has the capacity to generate and supply forty megawatts of electricity from the Dadinkowa Hydropower Plant in Gombe.
Engineer Zubairu revealed that the company plans to provide twenty-four-hour electricity supply to the MuhammaduBuhariIndustrial Park, which he said would enable the companies operating there to function effectively.
Earlier, the Managing Director of Gombe Revenue Optimization Company Limited, Abdulkadir Usman, said the Gombe State Government had put necessary arrangements in place to support investors and ensure the success of their businesses at the park.
He noted that the initiative would also enable the companies to increase production, improve the quality of their products and create about one thousand job opportunities for youths in the state.
Some participants at the meeting commended Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for his efforts in establishing the industrial park, assuring that they would contribute their quota towards improving business activities in Gombe State.
