NSCDC ADAMAWA COMMAND PARADES TWO SUSPECTS OVER ALLEGED VANDALISM OF 33KV ELECTRICITY CABLE.

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Adamawa State Command, today parades two suspects arrested for allegedly vandalizing critical electricity infrastructure along the 33KV network line from Hong - Garaha. 



Public Relation Officer NSCDC Adamawa state Command DSC Amidu Nyako Baba disclosed this in a statement made available to Newsmen in Yola.



The suspects, Kukuya Yakubu and Rabiu Haruna, both male, age 29 and 30 years old respectively, were arrested on Saturday 22 August 2026 by operatives of Hong Division following credible intelligence on the activities of suspected vandals operating within the area. 


Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects were allegedly involved in the vandalism of approximately 500 metres of 150mm Aluminum Conductor Cable (ACC) along the 33KV Hong–Garaha Network Line, With the intention of selling the vandalized cables to scavengers for financial gain.


The arrest is part of Commandant Nasiru Saleh's sustained efforts to protect critical national assets and infrastructure from vandalism and other criminal activities capable of undermining the provision of essential services to communities. 


Therefore, the Command issued a stern warning to vandals, scavengers and other individuals involved in the illegal removal, purchase or disposal of critical infrastructure to desist immediately, anyone found culpable would be dealt with in accordance with the law. 


The two suspects remain in custody for further investigation and will be prosecuted in accordance with the law.


The Commandant Command's the officers and men of the Hong Division for their vigilance, professionalism and prompt response to credible intelligence. 


The Command will continue to intensify surveillance and intelligence-led operations across the State to safeguard critical national assets.


We are using this medium to call on members of the public to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious movements and activities around electricity 

installations and other critical national assets to the nearest NSCDC office.

The Adamawa State Police Command regrets to confirm a fatal motor vehicle accident that occurred on 3rd June, 2026, at about 1:50 p.m. along the Narehi area of Girei-Song Local Government Areas. ASUU MODIBBO ADAMA UNIVERSITY BRANCH COMMENCED TWO WEEK WARNING STRIKE.

NSCDC Adamawa State Command Deploys 2,521 Personnel for Easter Festivitie

The State Commandant, Comdt Idris Bande, issued the directive for the massive deployment to provide adequate safety and security for lives and property, as well as to protect all critical national assets and infrastructure within Adamawa State during the Easter period.
