Gombe PDP Youth Leader Dumps Party, Set to Join APC*

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) Youth Leader in Gombe State, Hon. Jamilu Ali Kalshingi, has resigned his membership of the party, paving the way for his imminent defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and subsequent declaration of support for the party’s  governorship candidate, Dr Jamil Isyaku Gwamna.

Kalshingi, who also served as the pioneer Chairman of the PDP states Youths leaders forum in Nigeria, communicated his resignation in a letter dated August 31, 2026, addressed to the Chairman of PDP in Bolari West Ward, Gombe Local Government Area. 


In the letter, he announced his decision to relinquish both his party membership and position as State Youth Leader with immediate effect.


According to him, the decision followed careful consideration, adding that he was moving in a new direction that would require him to leave his previous partisan engagements and pursue broader commitments. 


The resignation of the former PDP youth leader is a significant development in the political realignment taking place in Gombe State ahead of the 2027 general elections. 


As a prominent youth leader and grassroots mobiliser and the pioneer chairman of the forum that brought together youth leaders from the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, his decision is expected to generate further political momentum for the APC.


Hon. Kalshingi is expected to formally join the APC and publicly declare his support for Dr. Jamil Isyaku Gwamna, whose aspiration has continued to attract political stakeholders, youths and community leaders across Gombe State.


His forthcoming declaration is expected to further strengthen the growing coalition around the APC governorship candidate.


The mass exodus of prominent figures away from the PDP, to the Gwamna camp, is an indication that many political actors and citizens are yearning for a leadership that will guarantee sustained growth and better economic outcomes that would secure their future.


The growing support for Dr. Gwamna is being presented as part of a broader movement for fresh leadership, youth inclusion, development and greater opportunities for the people.


In his remarks, Dr. Gwamna welcomes the decision of Hon. Kalshingi and considers his resignation from the PDP and anticipated movement to the APC as another important milestone in the ongoing political realignment in Gombe State.

The Adamawa State Police Command regrets to confirm a fatal motor vehicle accident that occurred on 3rd June, 2026, at about 1:50 p.m. along the Narehi area of Girei-Song Local Government Areas. ASUU MODIBBO ADAMA UNIVERSITY BRANCH COMMENCED TWO WEEK WARNING STRIKE.

NSCDC Adamawa State Command Deploys 2,521 Personnel for Easter Festivitie

The State Commandant, Comdt Idris Bande, issued the directive for the massive deployment to provide adequate safety and security for lives and property, as well as to protect all critical national assets and infrastructure within Adamawa State during the Easter period.
