Auto-crash claims one life, injures 18 in Adamawa.

By Alhassan Haladu Yola.  An auto crashed involving a Toyota Hummer bus has resulted in one fatality and left eighteen individuals with varying degrees of injury. The incident was confirmed by the Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Numan, ACC Idi Timothy, in an interview with Newsmen in Yola. The vehicle, a Toyota Hummer bus with registration number BLD 471 XL, was carrying 19 persons—comprising the driver, 14 men, and 5 women.  It was involved in the accident while en route from Yola to Kano. One passenger, confirmed to be a citizen of the Republic of Cameroon, succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash.  The eighteen other victims are currently receiving medical treatment at the General Hospital in Numan. ACID ATTACK: ADAMAWA POLICE COMMENCE INVESTIGATION, ARREST SUSPECT

By Alhassan Haladu Yola. Adamawa State Police Command has commenced investigation into an alleged acid attack on Walid Kassim Mohammed. Police Public Relation Officer Adamawa state Command SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje. discloused this in a statement made available to Newsmen in Yola. On the 14/01/2026 the Victim 17-year-old ran to the Shagari Division Headquarters in distressed that while on his way to mosque, he was sprayed with a substance suspected to be acidic by one Idris Hamza, a resident of Shagari, Yola South LGA. Following the report, the victim was immediately rushed to a hospital, where he is currently receiving medical treatment while the alleged suspect was taken into protective custody. The Commissioner of Police, CP DANKOMBO MORRIS,  has directed the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) to take over the case and ensure thorough investigation. JIGAWA PENSION BOARD DISBURSED N12.6B TO RETIREES

The Jigawa State and Local Governments Contributory Pension Scheme has disbursed a total of N12,614,826,460.17 billion to over 5,000 retirees from 2024 to January 2026. public Relation Office from the office of head of service Gigawa state, Isma ila Ibrahim Dutse discloused this in a statement made available to Newsmen in Dutse. The State Head of the Civil Service, Alhaji Muhammad K. Dagaceri, confirmed this development while launching the payment of N1.5 billion to 592 retirees at the Pension House. He said in 2024, Governor Malam Umar A. Namadi, allocated N5,422,239,826.32, benefiting 2,033 retirees. In 2025, the Governor released N5,681,618,940.89, which was disbursed to 2,211 retirees, adding that today the scheme will disburse N1,510,967,692.96 to 592 retiress which he described as a part of the Governor's commitment to enhancing the welfare of civil servants. Adamawa State Police Command has observed with serious concern the increasing cases of fatal and dangerous road traffic accidents recorded across major highways and urban roads within the State. Investigations indicate that most of these accidents are caused by reckless driving, over-speeding, dangerous overtaking, non licensed and illegal road racing involving power bikes and vehicles. Commissioner of Police, Adamawa State Command, CP Dankombo Morris,  has received eighteen (18) newly passed-out Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) from the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, who have been posted to the Command.
