‎ UPDATE ON CBT EXAMINATIONS FOR THE RECRUITMENT OF 5,000 TEACHERS ‎

By Alhassan Haladu Yola. ‎ ‎The Adamawa State Post Primary Schools Management Board has commenced the Computer-Based Test (CBT) examinations for the recruitment of 5,000 teachers across the state. ‎ ‎Speaking during the exercise at General Murtala Muhammed College, Yola, the Acting Executive Secretary of the Board and Co-Chairman of the Screening Committee, Mr. Birsan Penuel, disclosed that all necessary arrangements have been finalized to ensure the smooth conduct of the examination. ‎ ‎According to him, relevant stakeholders are fully on ground to monitor and support the process for transparency, efficiency, and fairness. ‎ ‎Applicants began arriving at the venue as early as 7:00 a.m., ahead of the official start time, and were attended to by staff of Satlink Consult, the consulting firm managing the technical aspects of the examination. ‎ ‎Mr. Penuel expressed satisfaction with the large turnout of applicants and the smooth conduct of the exercise. ‎ ‎He also commended Governor Ahma...

ADAMAWA STATE POLICE COMMAND ARRESTED FOUR POLICE OFFICERS FOR MISCONDUCT SEEN TREDING ON SOCIAL MEDIA. PLATFORMS.

The unfortunate incident occurred on 14th October, 2025 at Sabon gari quarters, Fufore local government area. ‎Movement for Good Governance Holds Sanitation Exercise in Yola ‎

POLICE RENEWED ACTION PLAN, DEPLOYED MORE SECURITY TO KIRI/WURO YANKA VILLAGES IN SHELLENG LOCAL GOVERNMENT

Customs Vows to Tackle Smuggling Along Nigeria–Cameroon Border.

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has reaffirmed its commitment to tackling smuggling activities across the Nigeria–Cameroon border to strengthen national security and boost economic growth. The Controller of Customs, Adamawa/Taraba Command, Comptroller Garba B. Bashir, stated this while briefing journalists at the Command’s headquarters in Yola. He disclosed that within a period of six weeks, the Command made 29 seizures with a total Duty Paid Value (DPV) of ₦112,590,000, following a series of intelligence-driven operations along various border flashpoints. According to him, the seizures were recorded at the Mubi–Sahuda axis, Girei–Wuro Bokki axis, Jamtari–Farang/Belel axis, Wuro Alhaji, Damare bank, Gurin–Fufore axis, and Yerima road in Gembu. SDP Dissolves Adamawa State Working Committee, Constitutes 90-Day Caretaker Committee

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) has dissolved the Adamawa State Working Committee and announced the formation of a Caretaker Committee to oversee the affairs of the party in the state for the next 90 days. In a statement dated October 9, 2025, and signed by the National Secretary, Dr. Olu Agunloye, the NWC said the decision followed a comprehensive review of the activities within the Adamawa State Chapter. According to the statement, the caretaker committee is mandated to reorganize the party’s structure, recruit new members, and ensure effective coordination of the party’s activities ahead of future elections. The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Adamawa State Command, has apprehended five (5) suspected vandals in connection with the unlawful possession and transportation of 204 units of 8"by 10F long iron pipes belonging to the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL). Public Relation Officer of Adamawa state Command DSC Amidu Nyako Baba discloused this in a statement made available to Newsmen in Yola. The suspects were intercepted on 30th September 2025, along the Jalingo–Numan road, while en route to Yobe State. Preliminary investigations reveal that the iron pipes were dug out and loaded from a bush around Mararaba Abbare, Lau Local Government Area of Taraba State. In an attempt to evade detection, the suspects concealed the pipes with chaff, deceitfully presenting them as farm produce.
