The unfortunate incident occurred on 14th October, 2025 at Sabon gari quarters, Fufore local government area. The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has reaffirmed its commitment to tackling smuggling activities across the Nigeria–Cameroon border to strengthen national security and boost economic growth. The Controller of Customs, Adamawa/Taraba Command, Comptroller Garba B. Bashir, stated this while briefing journalists at the Command’s headquarters in Yola. He disclosed that within a period of six weeks, the Command made 29 seizures with a total Duty Paid Value (DPV) of ₦112,590,000, following a series of intelligence-driven operations along various border flashpoints. The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) has dissolved the Adamawa State Working Committee and announced the formation of a Caretaker Committee to oversee the affairs of the party in the state for the next 90 days. In a statement dated October 9, 2025, and signed by the National Secretary, Dr. Olu Agunloye, the NWC said the decision followed a comprehensive review of the activities within the Adamawa State Chapter.
