The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), through Operation Whirlwind, has intensified its crackdown on economic saboteurs, seizing petroleum products worth over N86.5 million in the Adamawa/Taraba Command border areas. In November 2024 alone, the operation intercepted 71,965 liters of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), including 1,124 jerry cans of various capacities, 53 drums of 200 liters each, and 21,000 liters stored in two fuel tankers. The seized products were allegedly intended for smuggling to neighboring Cameroon.  Adamawa State Police Command in its fight against Violence crime apprehended a 20years old Abubakar Abdu, a resident of Gengle village of Mayo Belwa local Government area, for stabbing to death one Azumi Abubakar, 30years. Police Public Relation Officer Adamawa State Command SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje discloused this in a statement made available to Newsmen in Yola. The suspect had broke into the house of the victim and stole some quantity of maize. In an attempt to escaped, the victim sighted, identified and called the suspect with his name.  Upon realizing that he was noticed, he immediately attacked the victim by stabbing  her with a knife as a result she died. The arrest follows the complaint received from the victim's Husband  The suspect will be charged to court as soon as investigation is completed.

The well-organized four-week Mega WADA Sensitization Program by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Zone B Yola, in collaboration with the Multi-Sectoral Crisis Recovery Project (MCRP), ended on Wednesday.  The initiative concluded at the Government Day Secondary School in Wuro Hausa, Yola.  This program spanned all twenty-one Local Government Areas in Adamawa State.
