As preparations are underway for the celebration of the Eid al-Fitr festival across Adamawa State, the Civil Defence Corps NSCDC has pledged to ensure the safety and security of lives and property. The Corps, through its spokesperson, DSC Amidu Nyako Baba, stated that all necessary measures have been put in place to provide protection for worshippers at all Eid prayer grounds across the state. The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Adamawa State says it has made full preparations to ensure the smooth and safe celebration of the Eid al-Fitr festival across the state. The agency has already deployed 650 personnel to monitor activities and ensure the festivities are conducted without incident. The distribution of the assistance took place at the secretariat of the Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) in Jimeta, located in Yola North Local Government Area, the capital of Adamawa State. The coordinator in charge of distributing the items, Abdullahi Njidda Damare, disclosed this while speaking to journalists shortly after the items were distributed to patients. Abdullahi Damare said the reason for visiting the hospital to assist patients was because the last ten days of the month of Ramadan had begun.  According to him, these days are very significant for the Muslim community because good deeds performed during this period carry multiplied rewards. The complex surgical procedure, carried out by a team of specialists, marks the sixth successful operation of its kind at the hospital. The conjoined twins, who were born attached at the abdomen, underwent a successful three-hour separation surgery performed by a thirty-five-member medical team at the Modibbo Adama University Teaching Hospital, Yola. Head of the surgical team and former Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Professor Auwal Abubakar, said the twins were brought to the hospital from Bali Local Government Area of Taraba State after complications were discovered at birth. Parents in Yola North Local Government Area of Adamawa State have been urged to closely monitor their children and ensure they attend school regularly in order to promote educational development among students. The Principal of General Murtala Muhammed College, Yola, and Coordinator of Principals in Yola North, Mallam Muhammed Alhaji Musa, made the call while supervising the distribution of exercise books to secondary schools across the local government area. Mallam Musa explained that the Adamawa State Government, under the leadership of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has continued to support schools by providing essential learning materials, including exercise books for students. The Chairman of the Orphan Support Committee of One Ummah, under the leadership of Women in Da'awa in Adamawa State, Hajiya Amina Kabir, made the appeal while distributing food items to orphans to enable them observe the fasting month of Ramadan with ease. Hajiya Amina Kabir explained that their decision to support orphans was inspired by the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), which emphasize the great importance and reward attached to caring for orphans. She also advised the orphans to make good use of the items given to them in order to improve their lives and strive for a better future.
